Blue Lake is located 7 miles from downtown Sitka. Fed by four glaciers and nearly 100 inches of rainfall and snowmelt, Blue Lake has an abundant natural source of water.
The Blue lake water shed is uninhabited and protected by federal, state, and local laws from any development, ranching, farming or any other activity which could compromise the quality of the water.
The water quality is continuously monitored by the City of Sitka. Blue Lake provides some of the purest water on earth.
